Dr. Elaine M. Bukowiecki
Director, Study & Research Services

Dr. Elaine Bukowiecki is an Associate Professor of Literacy Education in the Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education, where she teaches advanced courses in the Graduate Programs in Reading.  Half of her faculty position involves directing Learning Assistance Services in Study and Research at the Academic Achievement Center.  Dr. Bukowiecki is a former elementary-school classroom teacher and district-wide language arts coordinator/specialist.  Her research interests involve teacher professional development.  She is currently President Elect of the Massachusetts Reading Association (MRA) and will serve as MRA President and Conference Chairperson during the 2009-2010 academic year.

The S & R department is staffed by graduate assistants as well as one undergraduate student.
GAs are not general content-area tutors; rather, they provide general support in the areas of study and research.
