Tutoring Central could not function without the help of our phenomenal peer tutors. The role of the tutor is to facilitate the learning process and act as a guide or coach in assisting students to become successful, independent learners. Peer tutors integrate effective study and learning strategies to maximize a student's potential for academic success. The tutor's role is to help students help themselves; to help them develop their study strategies and University outlook to a point where they no longer need your help. In other words, to work yourself out of a job!! A successful tutor is friendly, a positive role model, a student who enjoys learning and being a member of the BSU community. Most importantly, a successful tutor has a sense of humor; shared laughter is a powerful way to reinforce learning!!
