BSC Students Win Mass Society of CPAs Statewide Awards!

Bridgewater State College Accounting students have swept all top three spots in the recent Mass. Society of CPAs essay competition.  The competition is open to all Massachusetts colleges and universities that have accounting programs.

This year's winners include:
Timothy Davin, The Line Between Managed Earnings and Fraud (first place). 

Shannon LindenThe Impact of Non-Audit Services on Auditor Independence  (second place)

Erica Mack, Implementing a Secure Accounting Information System
(third place).


The 2000 winners include Christine Baker (first place) and Laura Condon (second place).

The 1999 winners include Patricia Mochen (first place), Sandra Viera (second place) and David Heinze (third place).

The 1998 winners include Denise Barb (first place), Lynn Paquette (second place) and Melissa Johnson (third place).

The 1997 winners include Eric Hartley (first place), Nicole Brehaut (second place) and Joy Matos (third place).

The 1996 winners include Catherine Sage (first place), John Kulibaba (second place) and Michael Franz (third place).

Over the past 15 years, Bridgewater State College students have won 35 out of 48 awards presented by the Mass Society of CPAs.  Twelve of these have been first-place entries.

The current student award winners were all enrolled in Dr. Patricia Bancroft's Accounting Theory class.   Dr. Bancroft and Professor Sevigny oversee the highly successful participation of BSC students in the rigorous competition.
