Chief Pilot's Message

As we come through the mid-point of the Fall 2009 semester, it is an excellent time for us to celebrate a number of individual and organizational milestones.  The Boston FAA Flight Standards District Office recently completed the first operational inspection of the facility, personnel, and aircraft, and we passed on all counts.  BSC Flight Operations also received the Aviation Safety Excellence award from Phoenix Aviation Managers in recognition of our efforts to create, promote, and maintain a high level of safety in all facets of our operations.

BSC Aviation also graduated our first applicants in the Instrument Rating course and the Flight Instructor - Airplane course, with both candidates successfully passing their respective FAA practical tests on the first attempt.  The bar has been set high, and as the semester progresses and additional students complete their training, we have every confidence they too will be successful with their practical exams.  All of that hard work and persistence pays off!

With the foul New England winter weather approaching, now is a good time to remind everyone to be ready for whatever Mother Nature dishes out.  Because with a few important exceptions, we will fly in whatever she throws at us.  Wear appropriate clothing, allow more time for aircraft pre-flight duties (tis' the season for de-icing!), and study up on cold-weather flying procedures.

Keep up the good work, and we'll see you on the flight line.
