One of three academic schools at Bridgewater State College, the School of Business is the home to four departments: Accounting and Finance, Aviation Science, Economics and Management. Each department offers its own undergraduate degree program, and the Master of Science in Management degree represents a collaborative effort among multiple departments. All degree programs hold national accreditation or certification, attesting to their quality as determined by external evaluators.
Our students find personal attention in their comfortably-sized classes, all of which are taught by faculty and not by graduate students. The faculty of the School of Business embody the balance of theory and practice that is critical for teaching students in the business and economics disciplines. They provide students with outstanding in-class experiences enriched by experiential learning.
Our students also have the opportunity to work with and learn from for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. They can also be members of an honor's program, engage in community service, participate in internships, study in other countries and conduct faculty-mentored undergraduate research. Students majoring in the aviation area have access to a program that is one of only two four-year programs in the nation with a partnership with a major airline.
The success of our students is our shared vision and drives all our decisions.
We offer many undergraduate courses, including some complete degree programs, in the evening, in addition to the daytime. Our graduate courses meet in the evenings, with some courses also offered on the weekend. Qualified undergraduate students may elect a five-year bachelors/masters program, for which they take both undergraduate and graduate courses during their fourth and fifth year and graduate with both an undergraduate degree and an M.S. in Management. The variety of ways in which students can earn degrees accommodates most needs, and we are continually considering other options as well.
I appreciate your interest in the School of Business. Please contact my office for any questions you have or to give me feedback on our programs.
