This program provides a broad background in computer science and will prepare graduates for employment in computer applications or for graduate studies in the field.
The Department offers undergraduate programs for majors in computer science leading to the Bachelor of Science degree. The Department also offers graduate programs leading to the Master of Science degree.
The computer science program provides students a broad computer science education, preparing them to apply appropriate scientific and mathematical background to the design, implementation and evaluation of computer based systems. Students need to understand the professional and ethical responsibilities inherent in designing the software that runs our world today while learning to work effectively in teams to build the larger computer systems in use now. Given the rapidly changing nature of the discipline, students need to appreciate the need for continuing learning and development throughout their careers.
