RCC Student Employment Opportunities

Working as a student employee in the Campus Center is an exiciting and meaningful co-curricular experience. Fifty students work in eight different RCC areas each academic year, gaining real world leadership skills in order to become active community members. Each student worker is invited to take the "Strengths Finder" assessment upon being hired to match them up with the RCC opportunity that best utilizes their strengths. At the end of each semester, the staff supervisors evaluate our employees' progress with the "S.T.A.R" Assessment tool.

What will you learn by working at the Campus Center?

  • Communication, through opportunities to provide quality customer service and dissemanation of information
  • Critical Thinking, through interactions with members of the RCC staff and customers on responding to challenges and increasing our efficiency.
  • Teamwork, through building relationships with area staff all working towards a common goal.
  • Autonomy, through a strong and ongoing training program that will empower you to make independent decisions that provide learning opportunities for growth.
  • Responsibility, through understanding your role as a student employee and taking pride in the accuracy of your work, you will learn how to be accountable and hold others to the same standard.
  • Leadership, through our student manager positions. In these roles, you will be asked to challenge the process, inspire a shared vision, enable others to act, model the way, and encourage the heart.

All student employees are invited to take the "Strengths Finder" assessment tool upon being hired as an RCC student employee, to get a better understanding of what his or her strengths are. By doing this, each employee will be encouraged to match up their top five strengths with an opportunity that best utilizes them. Our intent in promoting "Strengths Finder" is to help students articulate what they have learned by working with the RCC, during any type of job or school interview, using their "strengths" as their framework.
