Clearly, we recognize that the college experience can be exciting and rewarding for most students. At the same time, it can also have its challenges and difficulties. Our entire staff is available to provide support and help to all students.
Philip Roberts, MS, LMHC, LADC, Clinical Director
Philip received his masters degree in community mental health counseling from the University of Vermont in 1990. He has been working at the Counseling Center since 1994 as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. In addition to providing counseling to students, he also offers educational programming to the campus community, with a special interest in leading yoga workshops. Philip enjoys being a part of the dynamics of Bridgewater's vibrant academic community. One of his personal interests is the freedom of biking for exercise and relaxation.
Karen Renzulli, M.A., Psy.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Karen holds a B.A. and M.A. in clinical psychology and a Psy.D. from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology. Karen has held clinical positions in college counseling, community mental health, inpatient treatment and in an intensive outpatient program at an eating disorder center. Her professional interests include positive psychology where she emphasizes individual strengths and "flow". Systemic issues that impact individual power and agency inform her work. She enjoys working with people struggling with anxiety, trauma, and eating disorders and she tends to collaborate with clients regarding various coping skills including relaxation and enlisting supports.
Donna Schiavo, M.A., LMHC, Staff Counselor
Donna received her master's degree in psychology from BSC and is a licensed mental health counselor. She has worked with adults, adolescents and families in a variety of treatment settings. Donna uses a client centered, humanistic approach to psychotherapy. Her professional interests include the psychology of art and creativity, dream work, death and dying, and narrative therapy.
Amy Call, LICSW Staff Counselor
Amy received her Masters in Psychology and Social Work from Boston University. Amy has had the privilege of working in college counseling dating back to her MSW internship. She has a flexible, supportive and respectful approach with students that encourages student growth, healing and resilience. Amy has a special interest in mindfulness practice, managing distress, and building strengths. She welcomes all students.
Paige Leavitt-Halsall, MS, APRN, BC Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Paige is a graduate of Simmons College with a BSN degree in Nursing. She received her Masters in Nursing from Northeastern University with a concentration in Adult Psychiatry. Paige has 25 years experience in psychiatric nursing, she is board certified and can prescribe psychiatric medications. She also has experience in providing psychotherapy. Professionally, Paiges clinical interest is in the diagnosis and treatment of mood disorders. Personally, Paige enjoys world music and dance, contemporary art and caring for exotic and domestic pets.
Debra Longstreet, Post Graduate Fellow
Debra Longstreet graduated from Boston College with a Masters in Counseling Psychology in 2005. Previously, she worked at BSC in the Counseling Center as a clinical intern and a Post Masters Fellow. She has also worked on a crisis intervention hotline for a college community. Debra was recently hired as a Post Graduate Fellow at BSC for the current academic year.
Clinical Interns
Marie P. Cetoute, MSW Graduate Intern
Marie graduated from Clark University with a B.A. in psychology and is currently completing her final year for a Masters of Social Work degree from Simmons College. Professionally, she enjoys utilizing a strength-based approach to therapy. Previously, she interned at a community health center and is quite excited for the opportunities the Counseling Center will offer.
Francine Lorimer, Doctoral Practicum Intern
Francine has transitioned to psychology after researching and teaching psychological anthropology for ten years. She is currently a Psy.D. student at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology. She also is a candidate at the C.G. Jung Institute, Boston. She has had clinical experience at the Somerville Mental Health Center and at Keefe Technical High School, Framingham. Francine enjoys group work, art therapy, and working with dreams.

Cheri Amaral
Cheri Amaral graduated from Bridgewater State College with a B.S. in Management Science in 1999. She joined the Counseling Center team after working at the Registrar's Office for the past three years. Cheri serves as a volunteer in various youth soccer and church related activities in her community.
