Faculty Advocate Profile

J. Michael Bodi, Ph.D.

I am currently a tenured Associate Professor who serves as the Coordinator of the Master’s Core Courses for the MEd and MAT degrees in the Department of Secondary Education and Professional Programs within the School of Education and Allied Studies. I have been working with my colleagues to help develop FAN so that all of us will be able to feel more connected and supported by each of us. I taught in public and private schools in a variety of states and regions throughout the south and east coast. And I have been a school principal and created and developed curriculum and assessment for k-12 schools. I regularly write and publish in historical and educational foundations but focus often on educational reform and specialize in assessment.

At the undergraduate level I teach the assessment course for the secondary teachers and have taught one Honors Course. At the graduate level I teach Educational Research, my favorite area to work with teachers. When I first moved to New England (from points south: FL and TX) I was married with two kids; now I am a single Dad with two kids. It is great but I have many logistical issues that my colleagues at BSC who either do not have kids or do not have a partner to share those important details cannot understand.

If you wish to contact me to discuss any type of professional/personal issues please do not hesitate.  That’s not to say I can “fix” it but I know from my own experience that often a supportive friend can provide just enough to help so that things can get better.
