Father Skehan is Professor and Director Emeritus in the Department of Geology and Geophysics at Boston College. His dedicated service there has spanned a period of over four decades. During that time Father's list of accomplishments includes the development of two national public school earth science curricula, master teacher training, innumerable geological lectures and field trips, and publications which have received national recognition. The list of his awards and honors gives testament to his long standing commitment to science education. Father's reputation in geology inspired the naming of a Cambrian fossil trilobite, "Skehanos" after him and is a further tribute to his long, distinguished, and world-renowned career as a scientist and educator.
