Semester Grants support undergraduate research during the academic year with funds to offset the costs of doing research and creative work. Semester Grants can be used for travel to an off-campus research site or for supplies that are not supported by department budgets and that go beyond typical costs of a course.

Individual Semester Grants of up to $300 are awarded to students working independently, and Small-Group Semester Grants of up to $175 per student (maximum of $700) are for 2-4 students collaborating on a project. Semester Grants are intended for students enrolled in a directed study, honors thesis, or small upper-division course, although students in other courses who are doing work above and beyond the class assignments are welcome to apply with the consent and recommendation of their instructor.

NOTE: Please be sure your mentor has reviewed your proposal prior to submitting an online grant application. Before ordering supplies, please refer to the  Current Inventory.  If you need any of the items listed, please contact Kathy Frederick (508-531-2303) before completing your budget.
