Global Studies Council

Global Studies Council

The Global Studies Council, representing faculty and administrators from academic, student and external affairs, was appointed by the president in March 2008. It works to build an intentionally coordinated and collaborative approach to how we conceptualize the mission and opportunities of international education.

The college has seen a tremendous growth in recent years in the interest of our students, faculty and staff in international education. This interest has driven positive change in faculty and student research, curriculum development, study abroad, faculty exchanges and international programming on campus. A focus on international education is integral to the college’s strategic plan, our core curriculum, and our mission to serve our students as well as the broader community. By bringing together a number of constituencies and offices involved in different parts of international education, the Global Studies Council serves as a venue for sustained growth and collaboration.
