The WAC Clearinghouse: The WAC Clearinghouse, in partnership with the International Network of Writing Across the Curriculum Programs, e-publishes journals, books, and other resources for teachers who use writing in their courses.
The Northeast Writing Across the Curriculum Consortium (NEWACC) is a regional WAC consortium created in response to a need expressed by area WAC administrators and others involved in WAC-related efforts to form a supportive community that meets regularly to share ideas, WAC-related initiatives, and insights into negotiating institutional politics and funding. NEWACC provides opportunities for members to draw on each others expertise and experience through conversations and workshops at meetings, through a NEWACC listserv, and through the creation of a local WAC consultant list.
NEWACC meets every fall and spring. Fall meetings take place alternately at the biennial Quinnipiac University Critical Thinking and Writing conference, and in the off year, rotate to other member institutions. Spring meetings take place at the annual Northeast Writing Centers Association (NEWCA) conference. There are no membership dues, but there may be costs associated with registering for meetings. Those planning to participate in the meetings hosted by the Critical Thinking and Writing conference or NEWCA may pay associated registration fees, to be determined by the host organization. Members may also be called on to share costs associated with hosting the meeting at a members institution during the alternating years. Membership is open to anyone interested in writing/thinking across the curriculum. For more information, contact Kati Pletsch de Garcia, NEWACC Chair, at kdegarcia@mountida.edu.
