The Field Placement Office in the College of Education and Health Sciences at BSU places over 500 students in quality clinical placements throughout the academic year. This process requires the development and maintenance of PK-12 partnerships with over 50 school districts and agencies within the university’s service region. A student teaching agreement details the parameters of these partnerships. Clinical handbooks, observation forms and rubrics guide the assessment of our field experiences.

The College of Education and Health Sciences has also developed a network of professional development schools in several cities and towns in the BSU service region: Brockton, Easton (SRVTHS), New Bedford, Scituate and Taunton. Professional development school sites are chosen based upon their diverse student populations, innovative instructional practice and willingness to partner with the university in the preparation of outstanding 21st century educators.

Over the many years of developing outstanding professional educators, BSU has built a vast network of exemplary P-12 supervising practitioners. These educators work with our preservice candidates on a daily basis to help them build upon their strong theoretical foundation in refining and differentiating their instructional strategies to meet the learning needs of our diverse student populations.
