Deposit Deadline Update

Bridgewater State University (BSU) is committed to working with admitted students and their families individually to help them decide where to enroll. We are eager for students to notify us of their decision as soon as it is known so that they may begin the orientation/registration process immediately; but no student should feel pressure to make this commitment before they are ready.

The Department of Education’s launch of the new, simplified Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has delayed the sharing of processed results with colleges and universities. This delay has caused concern that admitted students may not receive their financial aid offers in time to make an informed enrollment decision before the traditional May 1, 2024 “National Candidate Reply Date.”

Students admitted to BSU should not be concerned with an arbitrary 2024 deposit deadline, knowing we will work with them and their families to make an informed decision, whenever this may be. The $200 tuition deposit (a pre-payment that goes toward the first semester tuition and fees) will not be required until after their financial award package has been received, if needed.

It is also recognized that students may be ready to commit but are unable to submit their deposit. These students may email Dean of Admission Gregg Meyer (gmeyer@bridgew.edu) to request consideration of waiving this requirement so that the orientation/registration process may begin immediately.
