Camp Howes Bench Dedication 1999

A camping program for physical education majors at Hyannis State Teachers college was established in 1942 and was named for Hyannis President Dr. Herbert Howes. To commemorate this program a granite bench was dedicated in 1999 at the site of the former camp on Lewis Bay in Hyannis. It is located in what is now called Veterans Park adjacent to the John F. Kennedy Memorial.
