As a member, the BSU Anthropology Department is listed in the AAA Guide to Anthropology Departments. A copy is available in the Department Office. The AAA is the largest anthropology association in the United States, with many affiliated Sections and Interest Groups. Sections include the Association for Feminist Anthropology, the Society for Applied Anthropology, the Society for the Study of North America, the Council of Anthropology and Education, the Association of Black Anthropologists, etc. AAA publishes the American Anthropologist and hosts an Annual Meeting in the Fall.

The BSU Anthropology Department is a member of the GBAC, along with nearly a dozen anthropology programs in the region, including Clark, Brandeis, Northeastern, Tufts, Wheaton, and Wellesley. They host an annual student research symposium, guest lectures, and other activities.

The Northeastern Anthropological Association - http://www.neaa.org

The NEAA connects anthropology programs from throughout the region from New York and Eastern Canada to the East Coast. This organization hosts an Annual Meeting in March, and offers opportunities for students - undergraduate and graduate - to present research papers.
