One job search method is to utilize job posting boards that allow you to access a variety of positions both locally, across the country and even across the world!  There are literally hundreds of these websites and Career Services has put together a list of a few of our favorites to help get you started!

Provides detailed information on more than 14 million U.S. businesses, with 27 data elements including executives, financial information, and articles.

Networking

No one job search tool is as effective as networking is!  Survey after survey confirms that over 2/3rds of people find their current job through some form of networking versus applying to positions online.  Therefore, networking should be a major part of an effective job search strategy.  Networking includes everything from attending job fairs to attending conferences in your field of interest.  There are a variety of ways to network, but here are some of the easiest methods to get you started:

The Employer Perspective

JOBipedia.org - JOBipedia.org is a public service provided by the HR Policy Association to help new entrants into the workforce find jobs. Get the employers prospective on any job search question you may possibly have.  Every answer you read on JOBipedia was written by someone from a large employer who actually hires employees for a living.

Researching Employers

You need to be aware of the places that you COULD work before you start searching!  There are a host of websites and resources that you can utilize in identifying employers that are looking for your qualifications.
