Internship with Providence Bruins I came to Career Services with the goal of getting an internship with a sports organization. Career Services helped me put together a resume and cover letter that I was proud of and ultimately landed me an internship with the Providence Bruins in the Marketing and Sales Division. I 100% would advise other students to use Career Services for anything involving a potential internship, job, or career opportunity. There is always room for improvement when it comes to a resume or cover letter, and learning how to market ones self is a key part of the process. My goal is to take advantage of everything that Bridgewater has to offer and when I come to Career Services, I know that everyone has my best interest at heart. |

The Washington Center Intern;
House Committee on Education and the Workforce In the fall of 2001 I was fortunate enough to spend the semester interning for the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. The No Child Left Behind Act was a landmark piece of education reform passed by a bi-partisan group of legislators designed to raise accountability and standards to help all kids succeed. I interned for the House committee that was writing the bill, and I joined their team right when the conference committee process with the Senate began. I arrived in Washington, DC in late August of 2001 with many of the same fears I'm sure most of the interns had. I left Washington, DC knowing I couldn't wait to go back. The friends I made were invaluable and are still a big part of my life today. It was the perfect out of the classroom introduction to the world of politics and policy I have grown to love. |

On Campus Interview Program I scheduled my Senior Recruiting Appointment early because my graduation in January was approaching fast and I needed a lot of help finding a job and starting a career. In the appointment I learned how to create an effective resume and I learned about many different job "search engines" such as Careerlink@BSU. I also was told about job openings at State Street Corp who was participating in On Campus Interviews. The On Campus Interview was convenient and easy to apply for. Being interviewed on campus is much less intimidating than on site interviews. Preparing for an interview is a lot more work than I ever anticipated, but the resources provided by Career Services helped me focus on the most important information to know about the company and position I was applying for, as well as which questions to expect from the interviewer. From this experience, I was offered and accepted the position of Fund Accountant. I would definitely advise other students to use Career Services. Everyone was very helpful and I wouldn't have found a job so quickly without their assistance. Career Services makes the job search process much easier and a lot less stressful. |

Experiential Learning Expo Presenter I applied for the Experiential Learning Expo because I wanted to share my knowledge of as well as my experience during the BSU Study Tour to London. I gained great knowledge about a different country and I met new and interesting people along the way. The Experiential Learning Expo has helped me prepare for my future because I am also interested in studying abroad in Australia. Traveling is something I have always wanted and now that I am attending BSU, I have that chance to travel the world. |

Intern, Fox 25 News I spent the summer of 2011 interning at Fox 25 News in Dedham and I can honestly say that it's been one of the greatest experiences in my college career. Back in January, I went on a job shadow to the station that was offered by Career Services. In April, I applied for and landed the internship position. Going into the internship, I knew that I would be a Newsroom Intern, but little did I know that I would get to experience a summer of tornadoes, the Bruins championship, and Whitey Bulger. I got to meet so many fascinating individuals who I wouldn't have had the chance to meet otherwise. Seeing the news unravel in front of my eyes has shaped my outlook on the world in so many ways.
