Open World Moldova

The Center for Legislative Studies hosted delegates from the Open World
Moldova program at a luncheon/discussion at the college. Open World is a
Rotary/US Congressional sponsored program and the delegates consist of
government officials from Moldova.
The delegates spoke to members of the political science faculty, former
MA Inspector General Robert Cerasoli, and Dean Rita Miller. Questions
discussed included:

The American experience in
controlling political party financing.

The legislation regarding
public acquisitions and controlling agencies.

Legislation and enforcement
of lobbying activities - The investigation in major corruption
issues.

The conflict of interests and
the control of this domain in US Public agencies.

Ensuring publicity and
transparency of judicial actions.

How civil council members
monitor the activity of police department or other law enforcement
agencies.
