Community Service Center
This BSU center provides students, faculty and staff with a variety of volunteer and community service opportunities in the Southeastern Massachusetts area and beyond.
Connect Southeastern Massachusetts at BSU
Connect is a partnership of public higher education institutions in southeastern Massachusetts—Bridgewater State University, Bristol Community College, Cape Cod Community College, Massasoit Community College, and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
Institute for Regional Development
This BSU Institute serves as the visible focal point for initiatives related to enhancing the quality of life in Southeastern Massachusetts. The institute research reports and survey results are available on its website.
HERS at BSU
HERS at BSU is a Bridgewater State University organization dedicated to the continuing professional development of HERS alumnae at BSU, to promoting professional development opportunities on the BSU campus and beyond, and to strengthening and supporting the national HERS organization and its programs and goals.
Division of External Affairs
The Division of External Affairs is responsible coordinating, maintaining, and establishing a positive and productive relationships with key constituencies outside the university.

Hall of Black Achievement
A repository of the records or the significant achievements and contributions of people of color.
Massachusetts Hall of Fame for Science Educators
An organization that honors science educators who have made significant contributions to science education in the state of Massachusetts over an extended period of time.
Massachusetts Geographic Alliance
An organization of Massachusetts teachers dedicated to improving geography education in the Commonwealth.
New England-Canada Business Council
Formed to advance the understanding of cultural, political, and trade issues between Canada and the United States and to promote the entrepreneurial networking interests of its members.
Project Contemporary Competitiveness
Advanced studies, residential, summer program at Bridgewater State University for academically talented students currently enrolled in grades eight and nine.
Writing Across the Curriculum
A program intended to improve student writing and learning, and to help students become fluent in the specific discourse conventions of their major disciplines.

Faculty Initiatives and Special Programs

Innovation, creativity, and commitment are hallmarks of the faculty of Bridgewater State University. One outgrowth of the faculty's initiative is a variety of centers and institutes, special programs, and two academic journals. These initiatives add depth to our academic programs and serve the region and the academic community at large.
