Bullock, FAM for Change Coordinator
Georgieanna Bullock is from Brockton, MA and a freshman at BSU. She is a scholarship recipient, one of the first, from the FAM for Change Mentoring Program. When speaking about FAM Georgieanna says "without FAM I do not believe I would be where I am today; FAM brings everyone together and strives to improve any faults one may possess." This year Georgieanna works in the office with Kenny and enjoys the opportunity to continue working along with FAM.
Kate Capasso, Jumpstart Volunteer Coordinator
Kate is senior dual license major (Special Education and Elementary Education) and this is her fourth year with the Jumpstart program. Freshmen year Kate was a Corps Member, sophomore and junior year Kate was a Team Leader, and this year is her first time working in the office as a Volunteer Coordinator. Kate really believes in the Jumpstart program, loves working with the children, and performing community service. She is excited for this year because she loves how friendly and motivated the entire Community Service Center is.
O'Neil Gaudet, FAM for Change Mentor
O'Neil is a fitth year senior here at BSU majoring in psychology with a minor in special education. This year I will be working in the FAM for Change office as an office assistant to help out with programming and other tasks to strengthen the experience for everyone involved. I have served as a mentor in FAM for Change for two years and I am very passionate about empowering youth. I believe community service is the best way to help build relationships that lead toward more positive actions in the community. Personally, I have grown tremendously these past few years through direct service and have witnessed how volunteering my time, energy, and love can truly change lives."
Brian Kelleher-Calnan, FAM for Change Mentor
Brian is a senior majoring Sociology with a concentration in Global Studies and Social Justice. During his time at BSU, Brian has been involved with multiple University organizations dedicated to combating the worlds most prevalent social issues. In addition to being a FAM mentor, this is Brian's second year serving as a FAM for Change Program Assistant.
Athena Liousas, Jumpstart Volunteer Coordinator
Athena is a senior, double majoring in Elementary Education and Spanish. This will be Athena's fourth year working for the Jumpstart Program; first as a Corps Member, second as an Office Assistant, and now this will be her second year as Volunteer Coordinator. Athena has loved feeling a part of the Community Service Center family and continues to come back to serve the community. The best parts of the Bridgewater for her are the welcoming atmosphere, cultural diversity, and opportunities working with children.
Melissa Oquendo, Volunteer Program Assistant
Melissa is a junior this year majoring in Sociology. She is constantly looking for opportunities to do service. During her freshman year she was a part of Jumpstart, where she worked with preschool children in Brockton. This is her second year working with us and has recently joined the FAM for Change Mentoring program where she will be interacting with Brockton High School students. In her free time, Melissa enjoys traveling, planning, doing community service, and trying new and cultural foods. Melissa hopes that she will be able to work at a passionate nonprofit in the future.
Ericka Parker, Jumpstart Program Assistant
Ericka is a senior here at BSU. She is a social work major and a psychology minor. She was a Jumpstart Corps member for two years and currently is the Jumpstart's program assistant. Erika has done many hours of community service since her freshman year and truly loves all the programs the community center has to offer. Erika is excited to be working in the office and loves being a part of the Community Service Center's family.
Kelsey Powers, Jumpstart
Program Assistant
Kelsey is a senior this year enrolled in the Dual License program for Elementary Education, Special Education, and Mathematics. She will be a Program assistant for Jumpstart this year. Previously she worked as a Team Leader for Jumpstart for two years and a Corpse Member for one year. Her favorite hobby is crafts and sewing and she loves working with children.
Jeff Richardson, Volunteer Program Assistant
Jeff is Social Work major with a minor in Criminal Justice. He is a senior this year at BSU. Every year so far that he has attended Bridgewater State University, he has participated in Alternative Break trips in both New York and Arizona. He is a part of the Kappa Delta Phi fraternity here on campus. When he graduates, he hopes to eventually go to Graduate school for his Master's in Social Work and work in a juvenile correctional facility.
Maureen Ryan, Volunteer Program Assistant
Maureen is a Junior majoring in Management with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Accounting and Finance. She is new to the office, but has been involved with Alternative breaks, School on Wheels, and other Community Service programs throughout campus. This year, along with working in our office, she is also a Team Leader for one of the Alternative Break Trips this winter. In her spare time she volunteers at her local nursing home which has been her second home since she was 13.
Paige Stokes, FAM for Change Mentor
Paige Stokes is a junior double majoring in elementary education and earth sciences. This is her first year as a mentor in the FAM for change program. Paige is very excited to also be working in the FAM office. She hopes to earn her degree and work in an elementary school after graduation.
Brenda
Terrero, Volunteer Program Assistant
Brenda is a sophomore majoring in Bio-Med here at BSU. During her freshman year at BSU, she was a core member for the Jumpstart Program. This year she is a mentor in the Friends and Mentors for Change program and she is also a volunteer program assistant for the community service office. She is very excited about participating in the local community service programs this year and is passionate about going to medical school in the future.
