What can you do with a computer science degree? Help change the world.
Today there may be no degree as applicable or essential to the world’s economies — and influential to how people live, play and work — than a computer science degree.
The computer science program at Bridgewater State University encompasses computer theory, ethical and technological issues, user interface requirements and the development, programming and design of hardware platforms and software applications. We also offer a graduate-level program in computer science (MS).
With a computer science degree from BSU, you’ll be prepared to apply your skills and knowledge to the design, implementation and evaluation of computer-based systems in the private and public sectors. We offer three labs — including one focused on robotics and electronics — with state-of-the-art equipment, providing computer science degree students with extraordinary hands-on opportunities to put theory into practice.
Become part of the BSU computer science programs community
- Join the computer science club. Members of the computer science club have competed in programming and robotics competitions, hackathons and on-campus activities focused on the opportunities and challenges inherent in the discipline.
- Do undergraduate research. We encourage computer science degree students to join a faculty research group to work on existing research projects that not only push the bounds of the discipline, but also provides you important skills.
- Get experience. Internships play an important role in helping you earn valuable work experience while you study. BSU students who’ve earned their computer science degree have completed internships with such companies as Meditech, Partners Healthcare, Panera Bread, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Apple, Microsoft, Cisco, RedHat, State Street and Dell.
