Athletics and recreation facilities are provided to the campus community. The signature sports facility is the Adrian Tinsley Center that opened in fall 2002. The Tinsley Center is a state-of-the-art facility with a 9,000-square-foot Thornburg Fitness Center, field house, gymnasium and academic classrooms. Departmental offices for Athletics and Recreation and the Department of Movement Arts, Health Promotion, Leisure Studies and Secondary Education Department are also housed in the center. Athletics and Recreation provides services in intercollegiate athletics as well as fitness, campus recreation and recreational sport opportunities.
