When Hilary was twenty-two years old, she purchased a one-way ticket to Singapore. She left home with just one suitcase, a love for Asian culture, and a determination to succeed. The author of One White Face came to campus to share her story and the importance of working toward success as a minority in a new environment.
The talk was sponsored by the Student Government Association, Program Committee, Dr. Edward W. Minnock Center for International Engagement and the departments of Asian Studies and Women's and Gender Studies. (Photo by student Steve Rowell, University News)
