The Writers' Café

Submit Your Creative or Academic Writing!

The Writers' Café provides students with the experience of reading in front of appreciative students and faculty, which, at the same time, exposes their written work to a large, academically diverse audience. Not only is reading work aloud to an audience a gratifying experience, but it also prepares students for future public speaking and looks great on a résumé. The event is free of charge and is open to the entire BSC community.

In the past, students have submitted and read the following genres:

  • poetry
  • short fiction
  • short non-fiction
  • screenplay excerpts
  • novel excerpts
  • academic essays
  • journalistic essays
  • research papers
