Zohaa Basra '14
Zohaa Basra '14 is ready to navigate the inner workings of the people and government. Though this may seem like a big feat for the everyday citizen, it’s now second nature to Zohaa, a political science major at Bridgewater State University. She spent her Summer 2013 as an intern for U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren and, previously, interned at The Washington Center in the Law and Criminal Justice program during the Summer 2012.
"Through this marvelous experience, I was given a platform through which I was able to transform every aspect of my life," she says. "For those who are presented with this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, it would be a great tragedy to pass it up."
In her recent experience, Zohaa assisted with constituent services, addressing the concerns of Bay State voters. She also had the unique opportunity to give tours of the Capitol to Massachusetts residents. Thanks to her internships, Zohaa continues to focus on her studies at Bridgewater and is well prepared for her future involvement in local and national politics.
