James Edwards is a broadly published illustrator and a professor of art for over 25 years - formerly at Massachusetts College of Art & Design and the College of Visual & Performing Arts, UMass Dartmouth. As an educator, James sees his primary responsibility to be in helping his students to identify, amplify and refine their personal visual voices. When James is not working with students you will find him most often in his studio oil painting. His current works, landscapes built from travel memories and local observations, present themselves in a spectrum of styles; ranging from neo-expressionist and post-impressionist to cubistic. James most enjoys hiking in the woods with his two rescued dogs Niko and Josie and whipping-up a fine meal in the kitchen, or grill, for his family.
