MFA, University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth
Mary Dondero earned her MFA from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth. As a full-time faculty at Bridgewater State University she finds working with university students both enormously rewarding and inspiring as she helps them become life learners.
In 2011, Professor Dondero was awarded "Artist in Resident" at Zion National Park in Utah. This residency granted secluded time and space where she could focus and develop new visual language for her artwork. Professor Dondero exhibits her work both nationally and internationally and, in 2005, she presented her photo-installation, 'Dust' at the Southeast Society of Photographic Educators Conference. Her work is held in several collections, such as the permanent collection of the Newport Art Museum in RI, the Naestved International Print Studio in Denmark, the Zion Human History Museum in Utah and the Wentworth-Coolidge Mansion in New Hampshire.
Prior to joining the BSU community Professor Dondero established her own design and screen-printing business with international client base. Her art studio is located in Warren, Rhode Island, where she is also one of the founding members of the non-profit organization, Imago Foundation for the Arts, and Exhibition Curator for the Bristol Art Museum, in Bristol RI.
