Katherine Martin holds her MA in Childhood Studies from Rutgers University- Camden, and her BA in Contemporary Art from Ramapo College of New Jersey. After working as the Program Director and Lead Instructor for an urban creative arts center based in Philadelphia, PA, Katherine moved on academically to pursue her PhD in Childhood Studies at Rutgers-Camden. Her dissertation and greater research focuses on the histories of art of marginalized communities, cultural production and consumption in the 19th & 20th centuries, American visual and material culture, and race, ethics, and equity regarding young people in the arts.
