Dr. Shin, a Professor in the Department of Communication at BSU, has a distinguished record of scholarly achievement. His teaching portfolio spans a wide range of communication courses, complemented by active engagement in the academic community. Dr. Shin has presented his research at numerous national and international conferences and published extensively in top-tier journals, including Communication Theory, International Journal of Communication, Review of Communication, Communication and Society, Journal of Community Psychology, Planning Theory, International Journal of Urban and Regional Research, Journal of Urban Technologies, Enquiry: The Architectural Research Centers Consortium (ARCC) Journal of Architectural Research, International Journal of Development and Sustainability, and Asian Journal of Information and Communications. Notably, he co-edited a volume on urban communication and social change with colleagues.
Dr. Shin's contributions have been recognized with prestigious awards. He was the inaugural recipient of the James W. Carey Urban Communication Award from the International Communication Association, and he has also received the Applied Urban Communication Research Grant Award from the Eastern Communication Association.
