Dr. Zhang is an associate professor in the Department of Communication, where she teaches dynamic public relations courses. She also instructs in intercultural communication and communication research, bringing cutting-edge insights and practical knowledge to the classroom. Her research interests span strategic communication, intercultural communication, health communication, media effects, and research methods. As a Fulbright alumna, Dr. Zhang proudly serves as the faculty advisor for a winning team in the prestigious Arthur W. Page Society/Institute for Public Relations case study competition, authored by her undergraduate students.
Her recent research article, "Social Media in Public Relations Scholarship: A Database-Based Systematic Review of Published Articles from 2015 to 2020," appeared in Public Relations Review, the oldest journal dedicated to in-depth examination and commentary on public relations. Outside of her academic pursuits, Dr. Zhang enjoys swimming, finding balance and inspiration in this activity. Her dedication to her students, innovative research, and significant contributions to the communication field make her a standout figure in the academic community.
