Gia A. Renaud earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Johnson and Wales University. Prior to teaching at the college level, she taught in the Fall River public school system both as a general educator and a special educator. She joined the Bridgewater State University Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education in the fall of 2015 teaching Creating a Standards-Based, Inclusive Elementary Classroom 1-6 (ELED 360) and supervising student teachers. Her research interests are strategies to include students with disabilities, classroom management and service learning. In November 2015, she presented at the National Teacher Education Conference in Arizona on assessment and observation tools that she developed and piloted with student teachers. In her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling and spending time at the beach.
