Kevin McGowan is an early childhood educator with over twenty-five years of experience. Kevin thrives in dynamic, fluid environments where a combination of authentically diverse efforts from practitioners, policy makers, and researchers address the needs of marginalized children and their families. Past early childhood experiences include working as a prekindergarten/Head Start teacher, mentor teacher, and education manager with the District of Columbia Public Schools. Additional early childhood experiences include assistant director and disabilities specialist for the Alexandria, Virginia Head Start Program and emergent literacy coach for Educational Solutions. Kevin's research interests include exploring empathy development through a critical theory lens in early childhood education pre-service and in-service teachers.
