Coach Dyer completed his Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins along with All-America honors in water polo and swimming. After the completion of his Master's in Exercise Physiology from Indiana University, he has coached swimming and diving and taught Human Anatomy & Physiology, Biology and Exercise Physiology at Valdosta State University (GA), Arapahoe Community College (CO), University of Colorado and Metropolitan State University in Denver and currently at Bridgewater State University (MA).

Between spring and fall semesters, Coach D. supervises and trains beach lifeguards for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Department of Conservation and Recreation.
