James Hay has a Graduate Performance Diploma (with Distinction) in Collaborative Piano from Longy School of Music. Previously, he studied Piano Performance at New England Conservatory of Music. His piano teachers include Wayman Chin, Yoriko Takahashi, and Gabriel Chodos. He has performed in Master Classes with Aube Tzerko, Victor Rosenbaum, Joan Panetti and Warren Jones. Mr. Hay is on the faculty as Visiting Lecturer and Staff Accompanist at Bridgewater State University. Previously, he was on the faculty as Visiting Lecturer and Staff Accompanist at U-Mass Dartmouth and as Staff Accompanist at Anna Maria College. He is Accompanist of Jubilate Chorale (Brockton) and Bridgewater State University Chorale, and was Accompanist at Anna Maria College Concert Choir, U-Mass Dartmouth Chorale, South Coast Children’s Chorus and Organist at First Baptist Church in Brockton. He has been an accompanist for the Boston and Rhode Island Chapters of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, McClosky Institute of Voice, Mass Theatrica, Longwood Opera, North Shore Summer Concert Series, and New England Gilbert and Sullivan Society.
