Jodie Drapal Kluver

Jodie Drapal Kluver's main research interests include public and nonprofit organizations (resiliency, adaptive capacity, sustainability), citizen engagement, informal associations, organizational behavior, and voice. She has presented her work at both national and international public and nonprofit sector conferences and has published research articles in Public Administration Review, Administrative Theory & Practice, Public Manager, The Bridgewater Review, and PA Times. She has served as a reviewer for Public Administration Review, Policy and Politics, Oxford University Press, Nonprofit Voluntary Sector Quarterly, Voluntas, and Flat World Knowledge.

Within her academic career, Drapal Kluver has served as a core faculty member teaching courses in public and nonprofit management since 2006. She also served as the Program Director for the Massachusetts Certified Public Manager program housed at BSU for the past 10 years. At BSU, she was actively involved with service-learning communities on campus, served on the National Service-Learning Conference planning committee, and incorporated service learning/experiential learning within her classroom design.

Outside of her academic career, Drapal Kluver has served more than 28 years within the nonprofit sector in a variety of roles and with a myriad of organizations. She has also been actively involved as an educational consultant with several nonprofit and governmental organizations and as an instructor/presenter for nonprofit education programs. In addition, she served as a director of development for a local arts and culture organization for eight years, and executive director for a local children's literacy organization for five years. Her latest endeavor includes expanding her writing to include creative projects that bridge the academic and popular realms. She also has launched The Black Crow (Publishing), an organization focused on exploring a diverse collection of independent literary works with a focus on empowering women's voices.
