The Accelerated Postbaccalaureate Program (APB) is designed for persons who have a bachelor’s degree and are seeking initial teaching licensure in one of the following fields:
- Teacher of Biology, Grades 8-12
- Teacher of Chemistry, Grades 8-12
- Teacher of Dance (all levels)
- Teacher of Earth and Space Science (all levels)
- Teacher of English, Grades 5-8 or 8-12
- Teacher of Foreign Language: Spanish, Grades 5-12
- Teacher of History, Grades 5-8 or 8-12
- Teacher of Mathematics, Grades 5-8 or 8-12
- Teacher of Music (all levels)
- Teacher of Physics, Grades 8-12
- Teacher of Theater (all levels)
- Teacher of Visual Art, Grades PreK-8 or 5-12

As part of the admission process, each candidate’s transcripts will be reviewed by the APB Graduate Chair in collaboration with the appropriate departmental Graduate Chair for relevant content area coursework. A list of required topics has been determined by the specialized professional associations -- please see APB Transcript Review document at right for more information. The result of this review may require courses to be taken in the content area in addition to the 15 core APB education credits. Completion of this course work will not be applied to the APB program’s minimum credit requirements.

MEd in Special Education for Elementary and Early Childhood Teachers - Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8) Initial Licensure
This program is intended for teachers who hold an elementary or early childhood education initial license and is designed to provide them with an initial license as a teacher of students with moderate disabilities, PreK-8, and a Master of Education in Special Education, which fulfills the coursework requirements for professional licensure in elementary or early childhood education.
