We asked Dr. Martina Arndt of the physics department what “totality” will be like. This is when the sun is completely covered by the moon, as it will be on Aug. 21.
Dr. Arndt will be in Nebraska for the big event. She’s studied eclipses for many years, and viewed them from various spots around the globe. Dr. Arndt will be leading a team of researchers who will be spread across the United States observing and collecting data connected to the upcoming eclipse. Other BSU faculty members participating are Niki Glen, Maria Hegbloom, Mercedes Nunez, Veronica Cote, and student Maria Patrone.
