Copyright Policy

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to establish Bridgewater State University's policy on copyright ownership and define the administrative procedures for implementing and enforcing the policy.

Policy Statement

Bridgewater State University requires all users of the university network to comply with all state and federal laws, including copyright laws. Members of the BSU Community have access to the fundamentals of copyright law and a guide to copyright information at the United States Copyright Office Web page.

Applies to

This policy applies to all members of the Bridgewater State University community. This policy does not supersede any existing University policy.

Responsibilities

Everyone using the Bridgewater State University network must comply with the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, Title II, Section 512(c)(3).

Notification of Claimed Infringement Under The Digital Millennium Copyright Act: If any owners of copyrights believe a member of the BSU community is infringing copyright protected work, they may send a notice to BSU's designated agent. The University's agent is registered with the U.S. Copyright Office, and the listing of agents is available on-line. The University's agent is:
