A Broader Perspective in Learning
Interdisciplinary Studies at Bridgewater State University provides students the opportunity to push boundaries across different disciplines in the pursuit of their intellectual interests. From Actuarial Science to Geographic Information Systems (GIS); from LGBTQ Studies to World Music — and nearly 30 forward-looking minors in between — you can find new ideas and experiences within any of our interdisciplinary studies minors.
These minors are anything but small! Our interdisciplinary programs are for curious students with big ideas that can't be contained by a single track. Work with different departments and faculty across campus to discover your own pathway to learning.
Introducing the BA in Childhood Studies, BSU’s First Interdisciplinary Major
As Bridgewater State University’s first interdisciplinary major, childhood studies brings together education, the arts, social work, psychology and other fields to help students understand childhood from infancy through age 18. The major prepares students to work with children at schools, recreation programs, museums, social services organizations and other employers. Students can also continue their education at graduate programs in psychology, education, law and health.
