Flexibility to learn on your schedule

BSU’s College of Continuing Studies gives you maximum flexibility to complete your degree. The BS in accounting and finance programs may be taken on Bridgewater’s main campus during the day, or you may pursue your degree at night. Our night program follows the same requirements and curriculum as our day program, and many of our faculty members teach during the day as well as at night.

The BSU Trading Room

In the BSU Trading Room—the only one of its kind in Southeastern Massachusetts—you and other students in our Bachelor of Accounting and Finance programs will have direct access to Bloomberg terminals. These and other resources provide the ability to research corporations, create investment portfolios and track their investments with real market data.

Program of Study for Accounting and Finance

We offer two concentrations and a minor in accounting and finance. BSU’s Bachelor of Science in accountancy will prepare you for management-level positions in accounting, auditing and taxation, as well as the CMA and CPA exams. Our Bachelor of Science in finance prepares you for roles in banking and finance, as well as professional certifications such as the CFP or CFA. Our minor program enhances many other majors in the areas of business and finance.

Regardless of whether you choose the Bachelor of Science in Accounting or the minor in accounting and finance, you’ll benefit from coursework and activities such as these:

  • Bear BID: Mentored and guided by Ricciardi College of Business advisory board members, students compete for start-up funds with pitches for products and services.
  • Insurance and Risk Management: Bachelor of accounting students who complete this course with a B or better receive credit for CPCU 500, one of nine courses required to earn the Chartered Property-Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation. This is one of the premier designations for professionals working in the insurance and risk management industries.
  • CUBEs (Collaborative University Business Experiences) program: Collaborate with real businesses on faculty-led projects as you work toward your bachelor’s degree in accounting.
