The Dr. Mark J. Brenner Clinical Practice Scholarship will benefit a graduate student enrolled in the School of Social Work pursuing a Master of Social Work. The recipient will identify as a first-generation college student and will demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship Services. Students who are already receiving tuition and fee remission as a graduate assistant are not eligible. Preference will be given to an MSW student who intends to pursue a clinical practice career in the field of mental health.
The Fund will be used at the discretion of the School of Social Work to provide international travel opportunities for undergraduate social work students.
The School of Social Work Scholarship Fund for Undergraduate Students benefits a deserving undergraduate student with financial need. Applicants must submit a personal statement that details their academic accomplishments, community engagement, financial need and plans to apply their BSU social work education to enhance the well-being of individuals, families, and/or communities and work to increase social justice.
The Elsie Golush Frank Fund for Social Work was established by the Frank Family in 2006 to benefit a Bridgewater State University graduate student with financial need and enrolled in the Master of Social Work program. This is a graduate scholarship.
The Award is presented annually to a junior social work major to uphold the memory of Professor Lester Houston, his dedication and accomplishments in the field of social work, and to encourage students involved in the pursuit of common goals through social work.
The Edward T. Donovan Memorial Social Work Scholarship will be awarded to a junior or senior majoring in Social Work from Plymouth County or the surrounding area. Preference will be given to those interested in working in the aging field or with the elderly.
The Scholarship will provide support for graduate students with financial need or students of color in the Master of Social Work program.
