Donna L. Abelli is a full-time, tenured faculty in the Accounting and Finance (ACFI) department of the Ricciardi College of Business (RCOB) at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts. Her teaching history includes undergraduate and graduate accounting and finance courses, as well as an undergraduate management capstone course. Ms. Abelli is Coordinator of Fundamentals of Financial Reporting, a core business course, and Assessment Coordinator – Accounting. She serves on the Committee for Advancement of Research and Scholarship (CARS) advisory board and volunteers on the Academic Affairs Assessment Council. Ms. Abelli has been a conference/seminar/webinar speaker or panelist for various events throughout her career.
Ms. Abelli earned a Certified Practitioner Faculty designation, a professionally qualified faculty (PQ) program through the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and maintains an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. She began her career at PwC (legacy Coopers & Lybrand) and became a partner in assurance services. After public accounting, she was a CFO servicing private and public companies in life sciences, small businesses and nonprofits. During this time, she received her Master in Business Administration from Sawyer Business School at Suffolk University, with admission into Beta Gamma Sigma. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Bentley [College] University with highest honors (now referred to as Magna Cum Laude). Ms. Abelli is Chairman of the Board of Independent Bank Corp/Rockland Trust, a $20 billion full-service commercial and retail bank serving Eastern Massachusetts, Worcester county, and Rhode Island; and current member, past-Chairman of the Massachusetts Society of CPAs.
