Professor Crowley is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Maine and Massachusetts. He has extensive corporate experience in financial reporting and international tax at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi (BTM) Capital Corp, Bank of Tokyo Financial Corporation, Bank of New England, Thomson Reuters, and Warren, Gorham & Lamont Publishers as well as public accounting and auditing experience at Ernst & Young. In addition to his professional experience, Dr. Crowley has taught at several major Boston universities and is a member of the American Accounting Association (AAA) and the Financial Executives International (FEI). He received honorable mention for the AAA's Mark Chain/Federation of Schools of Accountancy Innovation in Graduate Teaching Award, and his research interests include Revenue Recognition through Consolidation, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), English as the reporting Lingua Franca and Financial Statement Disclosure analysis. His dissertation is entitled IFRS Mandatory Disclosures: Evidence of Form over Substance in the New EU. Professor Crowley is the faculty advisor for BSU's Accounting and Finance Club and is a member of the University's Honors Advisory Board. His outside interests include being a member of the Boston Athenaeum, a subscriber to the BSO, a weekly volunteer at Squashbusters (Boston) and an enthusiastic college basketball fan.
