Dr. George R. Horner Award for Academic Excellence in Anthropology
The Dr. George R. Horner Award is presented annually to outstanding graduating Anthropology majors. George Horner was the founder of the Anthropology major during the early 1970's and undertook ethnographic investigations in West Africa as well as archaeological investigations in the Boston area. He promoted a multi-sub-disciplinary approach to the field of Anthropology in the classroom as well as in the field.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Student Annual Award
The Anthropology Department’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Student Annual Award intends to recognize student celebrations of diversity, broadly defined, and their visions of equity and inclusion to imagine ways to build a more empathetic and justice-oriented award.
The Dr. Curtiss Hoffman Fund for Public Archaeology
The Dr. Curtiss Hoffman Fund for Public Archaeology will benefit one or more undergraduate students, with a preference for seniors majoring in Anthropology, with a concentration in Public Archaeology and a minimum GPA of 3.3 within the Anthropology major.
