One of the biggest benefits is actually getting to see all the work you put in the classroom out in the real world. It also helped having all that knowledge from the classroom to showcase to your internship supervisor, so you felt actually a little bit more prepared going in than you thought.

We feel very dedicated to cultivating a climate in which students can feel very welcome, very respected. The same for faculty. I think that we appreciate that to learn and to teach, you need to be in a place where you feel respected and valued and welcome and safe.

One of the things that really attracted me was the collegiality of faculty who were deeply committed to their teaching, but as well to their scholarship and to their service in the community.

Our faculty can always find a passion of their own. Then they can incorporate their teaching, their research and their services all in one.

Students here don't take education for granted. I've come to learn that many of our students are first generation students. And as someone who is a first gen college graduate in my family, that just sits very close to my heart. And so to see students who invest all they have time, resources, make sacrifice is something that I want to support as well.
