Amanda Colligan, Executive Director, Institutional Research & Decision Support
Amanda Colligan is responsible for the leadership, vision, and direction of the Office of Institutional Research & Decision support. She works with the OIR team on to model best practices for equity-minded data collection, analysis, and presentation of data and to support decision-making at every level across the BSU campus. With her experience in policy research and analysis at the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education, her experience in Institutional Research and Assessment at multiple community colleges, and her history as an adjunct faculty member in Sociology, Amanda brings her passion for collaboration and love for students to her work in OIR. Amanda is a BSU alum (B.A. Sociology, Education Concentration ’10) and credits her time at BSU with instilling the skills in her to be a lifelong learner. When she’s not looking at spreadsheets or working, she can be found listening to some live music, cooking for friends and family, or playing board games.
Lauren Haugh, Senior Research Analyst
Lauren Haugh is responsible for the execution of research studies, qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, and dissemination of results including the reporting of institutional data that support decision-making and planning at the University. Lauren brings a variety of higher education experience and perspectives to her responsibilities in order to identify and close institutional equity gaps. During her free time, Lauren can be found chasing around her twin toddlers and finishing her dissertation.
Rebecca Mushet, Associate Director, Institutional Research & Decision Support
Rebecca Mushet serves as Associate Director of Institutional Research & Decision Support and is responsible for the extraction, maintenance, and analysis of core institutional data from the university’s administrative systems. Rebecca is responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of all data reported by the office and prepares reports that support decision-making and planning at the University. Rebecca oversees all mandated reporting to state and federal agencies, as well as NECHE and other accreditations. She provides leadership for the University Data Stream initiative, serves as Chair of the Tableau Policy Committee, and is also a member of the Banner Technical Committee. Rebecca is a BSU alumna with over 20 years of higher education experience in BSU’s Institutional Research office.
Laura Pistorino, Business Intelligence Analyst
Laura Pistorino serves as the Business Intelligence Analyst in Institutional Research & Decision Support and is responsible for the analysis and design of data visualizations and dashboards to support the ongoing campus dissemination of data. Laura’s experience in research and her training in Tableau help IR to curate reports available to individual offices and the campus community to answer important questions on student and institutional success. Laura is a double Bear, graduating from BSU with her undergraduate degree in Psychology (‘12) and her master's degree in Educational Leadership, Higher Education Administration (‘22). Laura brings years of higher education research experience and a passion for closing institutional equity gaps to her work in OIR.
Emma Salvatore, Research Analyst
Emma Salvatore serves as the Research Analyst in Institutional Research & Decision Support and is responsible for completing data requests, updating internal reports, and assisting with ongoing research and analysis projects as part of the OIR team. Graduating from Saint Michael’s College in May 2023 with a degree in Economics, Emma brings her quantitative analysis and research strengths to the team, as well as her passion for equity-minded work. Outside of work, she enjoys sailing, skiing, and being outdoors with her friends and family.
